Devon businesses to receive eco-friendly advice

16 February 2007

Businesses in Devon are to be educated in protecting the environment with a series of talks.

Mid Devon Business Association will be hosting the speeches with the intention of informing firms of ways in which they can become more eco-friendly while helping them to save money at the same time.

The theme of the conference is to be 'ENERGY: Your opportunity - our survival', reports the Mid Devon Star, with the event beginning at 09:30 GMT on March 9th.

Giles Chichester, chair of the European Industry Research and Energy Committee, is to launch the event, being followed by talks from speakers within the government and industry who will outline the main issues facing businesses.

The speakers will then give practical examples from locally-based suppliers, the publication reports.

Last month it was announced that a district council in Devon had teamed up with the Waste and Resources Action Programme to launch a kerbside battery recycling initiative in East Devon to protect the environment.
